Grief Centre is excited to offer you an exclusive opportunity to visit Gibbs Farm Sculpture Park, one of New Zealand's most iconic spots, on Thursday, 21st November 2024.
Gibbs Farm, situated on 400 hectares of re-formed farmland along the stunning Kaipara Harbour, lies just 50 kilometres north of Auckland City. This extraordinary location boasts the largest collection of large-scale outdoor sculptures in New Zealand, with 23 breathtaking works by world-renowned artists seamlessly integrated into the diverse landscape, from rolling hills to the sweeping views of the harbour.
During your visit, you'll have the freedom to explore the farmland, take in the panoramic views of the harbour, and appreciate the sculptures both up close and from a distance. Through a self-guided tour, you can keep an eye out for the exotic animals that also call Gibbs Farm home. To prepare for the day, please consider the following:
- A reasonable level of fitness is required, as the visit typically takes 2-3 hours and covers 6-7km of rolling farmland and paved roadways
- Don’t forget to pack a picnic to enjoy amidst the stunning surroundings
- Given our changeable weather, please come prepared with a coat, hat, sunblock if it’s hot, and appropriate footwear—boots or sensible shoes are recommended, as the grass is often wet in the morning
Please note that Gibbs Farm is a private property open by appointment only. There is no entry fee to visit Gibbs Farm—all proceeds from these ticket sales go directly to the Grief Centre to support individuals experiencing loss and grief.
