DESCRIPTION:WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS WEBINAR?\n\nAnyone who works in a professional care role or supports people\nthrough all forms of grief and loss e.g. Social Workers, Teachers,\nCounsellors, Doctors, EMT, Corrections, Mental Health, Hospice,\nVolunteers etc.\n\nOVERVIEW\n\nBereavement by suicide research tells us that 135 people are impacted\nafter each suicide. 1/3 of those impacted, are expected to suffer\nsignificant life changes as a result. There is also increased\nvulnerability to suicide. This training looks at ways to help reduce\nthe vulnerability of those bereaved by suicide by equipping the\ncommunity with skills and knowledge to appropriately support.  Amanda\nbrings her own lived experience to this training, having lost her\ndaughter to suicide.\n\nKEY LEARNING POINTS\n\n 	* Using appropriate language\n 	* Bereaved by suicide- a unique form of bereavement\n 	* How to have the conversation with bereaved\n 	* A Grief Model\n 	* Cultural Competence\n 	* Grief Reactions\n 	* Trauma\n 	* Skills for managing intense emotions\n 	* Communication in the Family/Whanāu - children & young people\n 	* Strategies for the Workplace\n 	* Resources\n 	* Self-care for Providers\n\nWEBINAR STRUCTURE\n\nAll our webinars are 120mins (2hrs) in length and delivered\nthrough Zoom [https://zoom.us/about] platform.  They are presented\nlive and recorded.  Recordings can be accessed by registrants for a\nlimited time after the initial session, this gives more flexibility\nfor access and revision.\n\nCPD/OPD CERTIFICATION AND POINTS/CREDITS\n\nWe provide a Certificate of Participation for all our training\ncourses.  The requirement for receiving a certificate to confirm\nprofessional development is as follows:\n\n 	* You must view a minimum of 80% of a live presented webinar.\n 	* If you were unable to attend the live session you will be required\nto register for access to the webinar recording.\n 	* If you watched the live session but had to leave early or fall\nunder the 80% requirement, you will need to register for access to the\nwebinar recording.\n\n - events@griefcentre.org.nz - https://book.griefcentre.org.nz/bereavementbysuicideNZ
