DESCRIPTION:OVERVIEW\n\nThis webinar will examine the development, benefits and challenges of\nthe fast-growing medium of text-based support and the potential to\nincorporate it into your work in mental health. \n\nWHY IS UPSKILLING ON TEXT-BASED SUPPORT SO IMPORTANT?\n\nWith so many people, particularly children and youth, living in a\nworld of digital communications, the ability to express emotions and\nthoughts through text rather than voice or in-person is increasingly\nsought-after.\n\nIt’s an approach that can offer in-the-moment, accessible, anonymous\nsupport. It can be delivered by trained volunteers (supervised by\nprofessionals), qualified therapists, peer supporters, or through an\nautomated conversational agent (chatbot, such as Woebot).\n\nEXPERIENCED PRESENTER\n\nOur presenter Dr Fiona Pienaar has worked and partnered globally in\ntext-based mental health support.
