DESCRIPTION: \n\nWHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS WEBINAR?\n\nAnyone who works in a professional care role or supports people\nthrough all forms of loss and grief. Our content is applicable to a\nwide variety of professions including counsellors, social workers,\nteachers, emergency response teams, medical, corrections, mental\nhealth, hospice, volunteers, caregivers and more. \n\nOVERVIEW\n\nLast year we presented a well-received webinar on “Working with\nloss: An attachment-informed, internal family systems approach”\nwhich predominantly focused on grief relating to death and\nbereavement. In this second webinar, Ruth will explore the concept of\n‘living grief‘ a term to describe non-death related grief,\nincluding ambiguous losses and inevitable human futilities. These may\ninclude invisible losses like infertility, miscarriages, failing\nhealth, being passed over for a promotion again, the loss of a\nhoped-for future, family estrangement or loneliness in a long-term\ncommitted relationship, to name a few.\n\nWith insights from Attachment Theory Ruth will present how we can help\nclients navigate living grief by staying adaptive, soft-hearted and\nhealthily ‘finding our tears’ so that clients can get ‘better,\nnot bitter’. Neufeld’s model of Frustration-Adaptation-Aggression\nwill be used as a framework to work with living grief. Using Internal\nFamily Systems approach, Ruth will present what Self-led grieving over\nlife’s futilities, ambiguous losses, cumulative and complex living\ngrief might look like.\n\nKEY LEARNING POINTS\n\n * Neufeld’s model of attachment applied to invisible losses:\nliving with Right Relationships and Soft Hearts.\n * Right Relationships have three attachment dimensions:\ninterpersonal (our relationship with others and the nature of our\nvillage of attachment) intrapsychic (our relationship with ourselves\nand our capacity for self-compassion) transcendent attachment\n(spirituality dimensions: relationship to Atua/God/Higher Power or\nWairua/Spirit or Guides and Ancestors).\n * Neufeld’s concept of living with soft hearts: becoming adaptive\nand embracing tears of futility.\n * Neufeld’s model of transforming frustration into adaptation\nrather than attack/self-sabotage.\n * Internal Family Systems concept of being Self-led in the face of\nlife’s living losses and futilities. Helping client approaching\nliving grief with the 8 qualities of self (compassion, clarity,\ncourage, calm, creativity, confidence, connection and curiosity).\n\nWEBINAR REGISTRATION DETAILS\n\n * Access to the live two-hour webinar\n * Access to the webinar recording for 30 days\n * Access to a downloadable PDF handout\n * Certificate of accomplishment issued on completion of a short quiz\nfor CPD/OPD points\n * NOTE: WEBINAR TIMES ARE SHOWN IN NZST OR NZDT.
