DESCRIPTION:WHO SHOULD VIEW THIS WEBINAR RECORDING?\n\nAnyone who works in a professional care role or supports people\nthrough all forms of loss and grief. Our content is applicable to a\nwide variety of professions including counsellors, social workers,\nteachers, emergency response teams, medical, corrections, mental\nhealth, hospice, volunteers, caregivers and more.\n\nOVERVIEW\n\nIncreasingly, research from the neurosciences, psychological\nresilience studies, and trauma research, highlights the need for\nconnection for human thriving. When that connection is lost through\ndeath or permanent separation, it is natural to feel intense grief.\nHowever, the deeper the attachment we feel to the one we have lost,\nthe more resilient we will be in the face of such loss.\n\nIn this webinar we will explore the application of Dr Gordon\nNeufeld’s attachment-based developmental approach to understanding\nhow death and loss are mitigated by secure attachment. We will examine\nhow healthy attachment develops or can get ‘stuck’ and what impact\nthis has on grief. We will learn that attachment has the power to\ntranscend death, and explore how an ‘earned secure attachment’\n(Lyons-Ruth 1998) can be possible even after the loved one is gone.\nThis will be through the application of Internal Family Systems theory\nto the loss of an attachment figure.\n\nKEY LEARNING POINTS\n\n \n\n * An introduction to Neufeld’s attachment-based developmental\nparadigm.\n * How healthy attachment develops through six progressive levels or\nstages of attachment.\n * How grief can get ‘stuck’ and how to heal the attachment roots\nto help clients get ‘unstuck’.\n * The clinical application of attachment principles blended with\ninsights from Internal Family Systems for working therapeutically with\nclients facing grief due to the death of a loved one.\n\nWEBINAR REGISTRATION DETAILS\n\n * This webinar was recorded from a live webinar held in December\n2025\n * This webinar is two hours long\n * Registration gives access to the ticket holder only.
