Anyone who works in a professional care role or supports people through all forms of loss and grief. This webinar is particularly applicable to those working in suicide prevention. Overview
This webinar explores some of the theories and research that help us understand and recognise the multiple factors that may contribute to a person moving from thinking about suicide to taking action. Greater understanding can help us as we strive to support our clients and others, to prevent suicide.
In our private lives and in the work that we do, it is likely that we have all been touched by the impact of suicide. There are multiple factors that impact people’s mental health and wellbeing. Suicide has been described as a serious global public health crisis and is among the leading causes of death with over 700,000 people worldwide dying each year (WHO, August, 2023).
