Our content is applicable to a wide variety of professions including counsellors, social workers, teachers, emergency response teams, medical, corrections, mental health, hospice, volunteers, caregivers and more.
If you work in management, leadership or you just want to support a colleague and wish to be confident in supporting those that are grieving, you are encouraged to attend this webinar.
Overview
There will be times when someone in your organisation experiences grief. It may be yourself, colleagues, or a member of staff.
Evidence shows that a workplace that is sympathetic and supportive to someone at this vulnerable time results in less time lost to sick leave and an increase in loyalty to the organisation (Edwards 2005).
Loss of any kind is an intensely personal experience. A compassionate and flexible approach is needed. Clear communication around the person’s needs, wishes and expectations from both parties around managing the event and workload will avoid misunderstandings.
